Africa Info

Africa is the world’s second-largest and second-most-populous continent, after Asia. At about 30.3 million km2 including adjacent islands, it covers 6% of Earth’s total surface area and 20% of its land area. With 1,331,660,699 people as of 2020, it accounts for about 16% of the world’s human population. The continent is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north. In the northeast lie the Isthmus of Suez and the Red Sea. The Indian Ocean forms the border on the southeast and the Atlantic Ocean on the west. The continent includes Madagascar and various archipelagos. Furthermore, it contains 54 fully recognised sovereign states (countries), eight territories. In addition, it houses two de facto independent states with limited or no recognition.

Finally, you have everything you need to know about every country in Africa in one place. What makes this even better is that it includes FIRST-HAND info from our contributors and other individuals who have been there (in some cases multiple times). So before you jet off to… wherever… always ensure that you check in here FIRST.
