South African Airways a member of Star Alliance has been voted best airline in Africa on several occassions. This year (2019), SAA was awarded the Skytrax award for best airline staff service on the continent. It is head-quartered in Johannesburg and apart from local flights to the major towns (Cape Town, Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth) it flies to the following destinations across Africa:
