Ghana

Food

Cassava, plantains and maize are significant parts of Ghanaian cuisine. Banku is a Ghanaian dish that is cooked by a proportionate mixture of fermented corn and cassava dough in hot water into a smooth, whitish paste, served with soup, stew or a pepper sauce with fish. Common street food is fried plantain. It can be eaten alone as a snack or often with a hard-boiled egg, as well as a side dish.

Fufu is thick and heavy paste made of boiled then pounded plantains or yams. Fufu can be savoured with different stew. Fufu is at its best when eaten with your hands and dipped in sauce.
