Political structure
  • Official name: Federal Republic of Nigeria
  • Form of state: Federal republic (modelled after the United States), comprising 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT, Abuja)

  • The leader is elected by popular vote to a maximum of two 4-year terms.
