Travel & Accommodation

The recently revamped Seretse Khama International Airport is located in Gaborone and serves as the main international terminus into and out of Botswana. Most countries do not require a VISA (see map below) to travel to Botswana and provided the stay will be less than 90 days. Ironically a large percentage of African countries (except those that are part of SADC and other unions shared with Botswana) will require a VISA.

Botswana Airways is the main carrier to Botswana and has regular departures from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and Cape Town International Airport (South Africa). It also travels to other neighbouring countries such as Zambia (Lusaka) and Zimbabwe (Harare)

The airline also connects the main towns within Botswana:

  • Maun
  • Kasane
  • Francistown
